Dr. Gary Kaufman practices in the Departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at UI Health. Dr. Kaufman cares for children and adults, with a special focus on deaf patients and refugee communities. He is fluent in American Sign Language, and he strives to make healthcare accessible, understandable, and respectful for every patient. Dr. Kaufman believes that the best medical care begins with listening and working in partnership with patients to help them make informed decisions about their health. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, early intervention, and vaccination, and he is passionate about reducing barriers to care and creating an environment where every patient feels heard, respected, and supported.
