Dr. Shikha Jain practices in the Department of Hematology and Oncology at UI Health. Dr. Jain is a triple board-certified hematologist and oncologist who cares for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, with expertise in neuroendocrine tumors. Her areas of focus within gastrointestinal oncology include neuroendocrine tumors, colorectal, pancreatic, and hepatocellular cancers, as well as the science of health communication, including medical misinformation and equity in cancer care. 

Dr. Jain is an Associate Professor in the University of Illinois College of Medicine at UIC, Division of Hematology and Oncology, and Director of Rural Transformation Initiatives for the College of Medicine. She has published more than 70 peer-reviewed papers, including in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, Nature, and PNAS. She was appointed by the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to the Committee on Addressing Inaccurate and Misleading Information about Biological Threats. Dr. Jain was named the Illinois State Medical Society's Physician Leader of the Year in 2024, has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor, is included in Chicago Magazine's 2026 list of Top Cancer Doctors in Chicago, and has been honored as ‘Notable Leader in Health Care’ by Crain’s Chicago Business.
